Since my father passed away when I was only four years old, my mother raised my brother and me as a single parent. Because she was the bookkeeper and administrative assistant for Edgerly and Bessom Funeral Home, the owner offered her the apartment upstairs from the funeral home. I literally grew up in (and above) the funeral home often
Since my father passed away when I was only four years old, my mother raised my brother and me as a single parent. Because she was the bookkeeper and administrative assistant for Edgerly and Bessom Funeral Home, the owner offered her the apartment upstairs from the funeral home. I literally grew up in (and above) the funeral home often doing odd jobs such as washing the funeral cars (which I loved!). I later served my apprentice as a funeral director.
Periodically, a man named Mr. Brook would stop at the funeral home to sell his ONE product...neckwear; to the funeral directors. His route took him throughout all of New England. After he passed away in the early 1970s, the company was floundering as he had no one to take over his business. I purchased the company, and have built and expanded it to where we are now; a well-respected, full-service, family-owned haberdashery serving gentleman funeral directors and their staff.
Never did I realize that while I was
growing up all that I gleaned as a funeral home kid would become the backbone of
B. Brook Ltd.
Having grown up in the funeral home,
I know the funeral business, and I know your needs! We sell Clothes that Matter for the Moments that Matter!

For many years, we have served the Clergy either directly or through the Funeral Director. Many times, a Funeral Director will ask us if they can forward our information to their local Clergy,
and our answer is always a resounding,
“Yes, You Can!”
Our Raincoats, Top Coats, Car Coats, Suits, Blazers, and Slacks are equally enjoyed by both the Funeral Director and their Staff as well as the Clergy.
